Funeral Mass for Roberta Marie Bordelon Descant will take place at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer on Friday, January 24, 2025 beginning at 1:00 PM with Father Kenneth Michels officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Roberta Descant, age 83, passed away at her residence in Hessmer on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kathy Petch (Joey) of Fifth Ward, Curnis Walker (Lynn Lemoine) of Mansura, Ted Walker (Linda) of Marksville; stepchildren, Sean Descant, Shane Descant, Shannon Descant, Nicole Descant, Marcus Descant, and Earl Descant, Jr.; grandson, Jake Walker and son, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Walker; husband, Earl Descant, Sr.; parents, Wilfred and Blanche Guillot Bordelon. 

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 until 12:30 PM at Escude’ Funeral Home of Mansura.

Pallbearers will be, William Blalock, Zakery Laborde, Ryne Mayeux, Jake Walker, and Adam Walker.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
