Funeral services for Ronald Jude "Sedo" Dixon of Cottonport will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 beginning at 11am at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport with Fr. Walter Ajaero officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 beginning at 3pm until 10pm with a wake service at 7pm at the Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 8am until the time of service at Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport. Burial & military honors will commence in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery #2. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Ronald "Sedo" Dixon, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria. Ronald proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport and was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whom we will miss dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Ellen Dixon; daughters, Pamela Ann Dixon and Shelia Maria Dixon; parents, Louis & Mildred Descant Dixon; sisters, Darnella Brewer, Alla Mae Reynolds, Dolores Sayer; brothers, Carl Dixon, Matt Dixon, Daniel Dixon.
Those left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Beryl Dixon Fitzgerald of Pineville; sisters, Nel Margaret "Cootie" Ducote of Carencro, Katherine Bordelon of Bunkie, Joyce Plauche of Gonzales; grandchildren, Ashley Brazzell of Ball, Crystal Daire of Pineville, Danielle Fitzgerald of Pineville, Jennifer Garrot and Jeremy Bordelon both of Marksville; great-grandchildren, Kaden Garrot, Derek Daire, Jr., Annaclaire Brazzell, Isabelle Bordelon, Benton Garrot, and Jase Michael Brazzell.
