Ronald Jerome

Funeral mass for Ronald Theodore Jerome will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moreauville. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Mausoleum.

On Monday, February 15, 2021, Ronald "Sonny" Jerome, loving husband and father of six, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 82.

Ronald Jerome was born on February 7, 1939 to Walter & Frances Jerome inn Baltimore, Maryland. At the age of 18, he joined the Air Force and served his country proudly for 22 years retiring as a TSgt Sargent. During his active military career, he served two tours in Vietnam as Air Force Crew Chief Special Operations. Before his second tour to Vietnam, he met and fell in love with his wife of 49 years, Cheryl Ann Gauthier. He retired from the Davis-Monthan Force Base and settles to the city of Pineville. He worked for Dresser Industries for 20 years before retiring. Sonny enjoyed planting/gardening, rebuilding and playing with his model Lionel Trains, coin collecting, rebuilding old cars and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Walter Jerome; mother, Frances Jerome; four sisters: Helen Jerome, Genevieve Jerome, Mildred Jerome and Geraldine Jerome; in-laws, Kirby & Ethel Gauthier.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann Jerome; sister-in-law, Melba (David) Hanks; children, Ronald (Amber) Pickle, Lisa Pickle, Kristie Jerome (Scott) Weisler, Karen Jerome (Paul) Graves, Kellie (Kersey) Jerome and Kevin (Kristina) Jerome. He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Ronald Pickle, David Hanks, Scott Weisler, Kersey Trahan, Ricardo Delgadillo and Hadyen Ducote; honorary pallbearers include: Kadyn Talley, Paul Graves, Michael Doyle and Michael Blais.

A visitation will begin at 4:00pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville. A rosary prayer service will begin at 6:30pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville.

The family would like to thank Still Waters Hospice nurses, aides and staff for providing comfort and care during his final days.
