Memorial service for Russ Paul Laborde of Hessmer will begin at 11:00am on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura with Pastor Mark Crawford and Pastor Louis Charrier officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum in Hessmer.

Russ Paul Laborde, age 49, passed away at his home in Hessmer surrounded by loved ones. Russ was an avid hunter whose home was adorned with an impressive collection of deer racks. He cherished the great outdoors, finding joy in every hunt and adventure. Russ found great pleasure in gathering with friends for game nights, often sharing laughter over a game of pool. He was a good listener and respected leader, always ready to offer his support to those around him. His gentle spirit and soft-spoken nature resonated with all who knew him, and he lived his life filled with the Holy Spirit, striving to inspire others to find their path to Christ.

The love for his sons, Garrett and Jonah, was at the forefront of his life. He embraced fatherhood with a passion that was evident in every moment he shared with them, instilling values of respect and kindness. Russ’s presence made his parents, Paul and Rainie Laborde, proud, reflecting on the strong morals and loving environment they provided throughout his life.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Garrett Laborde and Jonah Laborde; his parents, Paul & Rainie Laborde; and his lifelong friends from Junior High.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Allison Bordelon.

Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 11:00am on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
