Funeral Mass for Russell P. Armand of Cottonport will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport with Fr. Charles Ray officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in Cottonport.

Russell P. Armand, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at this home in Cottonport.

Russell loved to fish, hunt, and camp; anything to do with the great outdoors. A love he shared with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He worked for Goudeau Entertainment his entire adult life before retiring after 46 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Sylvia Wyble Armand of Cottonport; daughter, Karla Armand Appleby (Scott) of Hessmer; grandchildren: Liam Armand of Youngsville and Curry Cooper of Hessmer; great-granddaughters, Alli Gaspard of Hessmer and Cameron Cooper of St. Landry; brother, Chris Armand of Plaucheville; daughter-in-law, Lauren Armand Maples (Jason) of Youngsville; step-grandchildren, Vincent Cruz and Jayvee Cruz both of The Philippines.

He was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Armand; parents, Walter J. Armand & Effie Francois Armand; brother, Larry Armand; and granddaughter, Gabriella Pilar Armand.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025, and resume from 8:00 AM until 12:40 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport.
