Russell Couvillion

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Russell Bernard Couvillion of Cottonport at the St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church of Cottonport on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 beginning at 11:00am with Reverend John Wiltse officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Mary Catholic Garden Mausoleum.

Russell, age 76, passed away at his home in on Sunday, February 27th, 2022.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Moreau Couvillion; children, Kurt Couvillion and wife Sharon Dohner of Guyton, GA, Carol Couvillion Landry and husband Steve of Lafayette, LA, and Adam Couvillion and wife Emily of McKinney, TX; sisters, Beryl Couvillion Moreau of Alexandria, LA and Cindy Couvillion Dewey and husband Jim of New Roads, LA; brother, Michael Couvillion and wife Penny of Portland, ME; and 5 grandchildren, Monica Couvillion, Andrew Landry, Abigail Landry, Rebecca Couvillion and Lily Couvillion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Couvillion and Agnes Voiselle Couvillion of Simmesport, LA; brother, Charles Couvillion of Slidell, LA; and sister, Darcie Couvillion Lartigue of Moreauville, LA. Russell was a dedicated, beloved husband and father who will be missed by all those who knew him.

The family wishes to thank the staff members of Avoyelles Hospital, Lagniappe Home Health, and All Saints Hospice for their excellent care and compassion in his final days.

Visitation will begin at 8:00am on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at the Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport until the time of service. The holy rosary will be recited before mass at 10:40am
