Ruth Carlson

Funeral services for Ruth Normand Carlson will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 beginning at 11:00am in Escude Funeral Home of Simmesport. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm. Burial will follow in Christ the King Catholic Church Cemetery in Simmesport.
Mrs. Carlson, 95, resident of Webster, TX and a native of Simmesport, passed away April 8, 2017 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Glenn Edwin Carlson; her parents, Leo Paul and Edith (Kennedy) Normand; 3 brothers, Lloyd Paul Normand, Clifton Normand, and John Earl "Snookie" Normand; 3 sisters, Mae Normand Shafer, Dorothy Normand Laborde, and Elizabeth (Ticky) Segona. She is survived by her daughter, Dianna M. Carlson of Webster, TX; sons, Robert M. Carlson of Webster, TX, John D. Carlson of Florida; sisters, Gidge Agnes Normand Olsen of Seattle, WA, and Irene Normand Dodson of Simmesport; brother, Vincent Wayne Normand of Branson, MO; sister-in-law, Lois Carlson of Duluth, MN; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 22 nieces and nephews, especially, Gwen Dodson, Samantha Church and Joe Bernof; 3rd generation, Chance Church, Hope Church, Christian Bernos, Chesney Bernos, and Johanna Bernos.
Pallbearers will be Vincent Normand, Robert Carlson, Donald Guillory, Kent Laborde, Joey Bernos, Chance Church and Darrel Durrett.
Escude' Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
