Sadie Couvillon

Funeral services for Sadie Bordelon Couvillon of Simmesport will take place at the Christ the King Catholic Church of Simmesport on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, beginning at 11:00am with Fr. Dwight de Jesus officiating. Visitation will be held at the Escud Funeral Home of Simmesport from 8:00am to 11:00am that Tuesday morning. Burial will commence at the Christ the King Catholic Mausoleum.
Sadie Bordelon Couvillon passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira S. Couvillon and her oldest son, Gary Couvillon and his wife Nancy, and one son Michael of Watkinsville, GA. Sadie was survived by her children, Wayne Couvillon wife Mary of Louisville, KY, Ted Couvillon of Lafayette, Craig Couvillon wife Connie of Simmesport, Scottie Couvillon wife Beth of Buford, GA, Audrey Duplechin husband Jimmy of Gonzales, Donna Simoneaux husband Wayne of Baton Rouge, Karen Couvillon of Simmesport, Mary Beth Dye husband Gerald of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren four greatgrandchildren.
Sadie was a lifelong resident of Avoyelles Parish, born in Redfish, raised on Yellow Bayou, and settled in Simmesport. She and Ira raised their family and started the business now known as Iras Hardware. Sadie was well known and loved by many and will be missed by all whose lives she has touched.
Service and arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
