Funeral services for Samuel Roddy Barnes of Simmesport will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Simmesport, beginning at 11:00am. Visitations will be held at the Escude Funeral Home of Simmesport also on Saturday, October 17, 2009, beginning at 9:00am. Samuel Roddy Barnes, age 36, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Williams. He is survived by his; father, Albert Barnes II; sisters, Patricia Williams of Simmesport, Sylvia Barnes of Simmesport; brothers, Christopher Barnes of Simmesport, Jonathon Barnes of Simmesport; grandmother, Dorothy Barnes of Jonesborough; and five aunts. Services and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
