Shakira Mingo

Funeral Services for Shakira Mingo will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 beginning at 1pm at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura. Visitation will be held that morning from 8am until the time of service at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Burial will commence in the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Shakira Mingo, age 20, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Shakira graduated in May 2014 from Avoyelles high School and attended Cottonport Technical College where she obtained her CNA Certification. She enjoyed her job as a CNA and also worked at Harvest Food and Paragon Casino as a room attendant.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rose Mary Hill; grandfathers, Marshall Prier, Sr., Arthur Howard, Sr.; great-grandfathers, Lester Francisco and John Roy Berry, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Giovetti & Shelita Mingo Berry of Mansura; Giovetti Mingo of Mansura; sisters, Sha'Kasha Mingo and Omeisha Francisco both of Mansura; niece, Alaysia Francisco of Mansura; godchildren, Bre'Layah Bradford, Kay'Lee Lavalais and Chazz Luquette, Jr.; aunts, uncles and many close and dear friends. Shakira also leaves a dear and loving friend, Mark Eldridge, Jr.
