Sharon Kay Reynolds Tassin, 60, of Cottonport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2012 at Rapides General Hospital. Sharon was born on July 13, 1952 in Lecompte, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Alla Mae Reynolds, son William Thomas Lyles, and brother Carl James Reynolds. She is survived by her husband of 32 years Ronald Joseph Tassin, of Cottonport, son Paul Lyles and wife Nicole of Cottonport, sister Juanita Reynolds McDonald and husband Larry of Deer Park, Texas, brother Jerry Wade Reynolds and wife Sue of Lafayette, sisterinlaw Sharon Olive Lemoine and husband Roderick of Covington, two granddaughters India Alyse Lyles and Evangeline Mae Lyles of Cottonport, many other nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her favorite cat of seventeen years, B.G.
Sharon was a charter member of the Louisiana Pageant Judges Association, where she served as President and was also an honorary member. Sharon was an honorary Commissioner of Elections. While working for Kisatchie Delta, Sharon provided tours of historical homes and buildings throughout Louisiana and also provided tours of the 1984 Worlds Fair in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sharon served as the President of the Womens Bowling Association and managed Cajun Lanes for several years. Sharons other accomplishments included her active involvement in the Belgian Exchange Program, working as a sweet potato broker, teaching English at St. Josephs High School, and serving as CoDirector of Christmas on the Bayou.
Family will receive visitors at Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport on Monday, December 3, 2012, from 5:00pm until time of funeral on Tuesday. Services will be at St. Marys Catholic Church, Cottonport, on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, beginning at 10:30am, with Reverend Jamie Medina Cruz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys No. 2 under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
