Mr. Shon Lee Prier, Sr. was born on September 29, 1973, to the late Marie Inez Prier and Jerome Roy. His spirit peacefully returned to God on Monday, October 21, 2024, in New Orleans, LA. Shon Lee Prier, Sr. was baptized at an early age at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Mansura, LA. He graduated from Avoyelles High School in Moreauville, LA. Shon furthered his education by attending Grambling State University where he studied computer information technology and vocal music performance. Shon performed in New York City for a special friend. Shon worked at the Marriot International Hotel in New Orleans as a Hospitality Serviceman. In his spare time Shon loved to cook, sing, and most of all fashion dressing-up, interior design. Close to his heart was mostly spending time with family and friends.
Shon was preceded in death by his mother Marie Inez Prier; maternal grandmothers, Mary Ruth Prier and Esma Young; paternal grandparents, Cliff and Mary Lee Roy; aunts, Elizabeth Guidry and Lucille Foster; uncle, Phillip Roy.
Shon left to cherish his special memories, his father, Jerome Roy of Mansura, LA.; grandfather, Melvin Young, of Marksville, LA.; grandsons, Cayden Prier and Markecion Dixon; his sons, Shon Lee Prier, Jr., Marcelis Prier, and De’Monte Prier; sisters, Tameca Roy (Dennis), Chante Francisco (Rodney), Jennifer Mason (Chris), Daisy Daniels (Don), and Yolanda Turner; brothers, Starlon Prier (Kayla), Trivieon Prier, Derrick Roy (Kim) and Travell Roy (Courtney); aunts, Monica Prier, Erma Jacobs (Frederick), Patsy Roy, Nellie Mae Roy, Evonne Perry (Larry), and Leshia Oliver (Peter); uncles, Bruce Roy, Joseph Roy, James Bradford, Charles "Chuck" Young (Simone) , Ervin Young (Samantha), Robert Young (Camella), Bruce Young, Chris Young, Trent Young (Jeralyn), and Cory Young (Alicia); special childhood friends, Joyel Cook and Parish Augustine; brother from another mother and college friend, Arvane Malone; godchildren, Zayden Burrows, Trevor Thomas and Odell Washington, II.; also a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
