Funeral services for Sierra James of Mansura will take place at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church of Mansura on Saturday, June 23, 2012, beginning at 10:30am. Visitation will be held at the Escud Funeral Home of Mansura on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 7:30am until the time of services. Burial services will commence at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Sierra James, age 74, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell James, Sr. and her parents, Gertrude Carmouche and Peter Francisco. She is survived by three daughters, Deder James of Mansura, Sarah James of New Orleans, and Mechelle James of Marksville, five sons, Rashad Qaasim and Russell James, Jr. both of New Orleans, Craig Francisco and Joseph James both of Dallas, TX., and Ricky James of Mansura. She is also survived by her niece, Betty Anywu of New Orleans, who she raised as if she were her own child, twentytwo grandchildren and thirteen greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will include: Bruce Jackson, Willie Jackson, III, Wilbert Holland, Flemon James, Jr., Craig Francisco, Jr., Carey Sampson, Shane Walter, Jimmy Lee, Dwayne Weathersby as the crossbearer.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
