Sylvia Guillory

Funeral Mass for Sylvia Marie Guillory of Cottonport will begin at 11:00am on Friday, May 28, 2021 at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport with Fr. John Wiltse officiating. Entombment will be held in the St. Mary’s Mausoleum #2.

Sylvia Guillory, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville. Sylvia worked in insurance sales with Security Plan so she became well known to many people. If she wasn’t known for selling you insurance, maybe you had one of the many baby blankets she would personally handmake. Her baby blankets are treasured by many. Saturday nights, she was often playing cards with her close friends. Sylvia’s pride and joy was truly her grandkids and great-grandkids, she loved them with all of her heart.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gregory (Cynthia) Guillory, Jody (Anne) Guillory, Vanessa (Peter) Dahlseng, Brad (Melissa) Guillory, Chad (Tammy) Guillory; brothers, Richard “Red” Jeansonne and Donald (Nancy) Jeansonne. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Summer, Matthew, Meagan, Pamela, Jason, Katie, Lucas, Sarah, Kyle, Levi, Christian, Benjamin, & Madalyn and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Labon & Theresa Jeansonne.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am until 11:00am on Friday, May 28, 2021 at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport.
