Funeral services for Theresa Batiste James of Mansura will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor of Mansura with Father Martin Laird officiating. Visitation will be held at Escud Funeral Home of Mansura on Friday, January 18, 2013 beginning at 5pm until 9pm. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura.
Theresa B. James, age 84, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013, at Solaris Hospice Hospital in Houston, TX. She was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary 4th and 3rd degree. She loved being a member and traveled to many places with the ladies. She will truly be missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston James, parents, Matthew Batiste and Louisiana Prier and brother, James Batiste and her beloved daughter, Charlene Wells. She is survived by six sons and three daughters all of Houston, TX, sons, Larry James, Ronald James, John Glenn James, Floyd James, Paul James and Clyde James three daughters, Sherry James, Juanita Sarpy and Lena James one sister, Martha Caston. She is also survived by her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be her sons, her nephew Cordell Batiste, and her grandson Niles Sarpy.
