Funeral Services for Mr. Tommy Simon, Sr. will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11am at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Mansura with Father Irion St. Romain officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home of Mansura.
Mr. Simon, age 63, of Mansura, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Evelyn Simon of Mansura, one daughter Sherry Simon Parks of Mansura two sons: Tommy Simon Jr. of Hessmer, and Todd Simon of Dupont his parents Charles, Sr. Helen Simon of Mansura four brothers: Charles Simon Jr. of Plaquemine, Anthony Simon of Greenwell Springs, Bruce Simon of Marshall, Texas, and Robert Simon of Mansura two sisters: Karen Brulte of Mansura, and Rae Ann Cash of Baton Rouge and 6 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Scott Paul Simon his grandson Hayden Paul Simon and his sister Krystie Grayson.
Tommy worked offshore for 13 years in the oil and gas industry. Then he continued to work in his hometown taking over his fathers automotive service station, followed by serving as city manager for the town of Mansura. He served on the Mansura Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years as a fire fighter, first responder, and instructor. He assisted in the creation of the Junior Fireman. Tommy was also a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus in Mansura for several years.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 5pm until 10pm at Escude Funeral Home of Mansura, with a rosary recited at 6:30pm and will resume on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 8am until the funeral at 11am.
