Funeral services for Ulysses Samuel U S Couvillion will be held on Monday, August 20th, 2012 beginning at 2pm at Christ the King Catholic Church in Simmesport. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 20th, 2012, beginning at 12pm until time of service at Escud Funeral Home in Simmesport.
Ulysses Samuel U S Couvillion, age 85, passed away on Saturday, August 18th, 2012 at 2:10 pm, due to medical complications from an extended illness.
He was born in Simmesport on April 18th, 1927 and he was the youngest of 8 children. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Frances Rabalais Couvillion, and is survived by five children, Michael, Christine, Laurie, Mary, and Lisa, nine grandchildren, and seven greatgrandchildren. U S served during WWII in the US Navy, then he moved to the metropolitan New Orleans area where he was a self employed barberbusiness owner, active in the Knights of Columbus, the Woodworkers Club and enjoyed hobbies including woodworking and gardening. He returned to live in Simmesport after his retirement in 1993.
