Ursula Bordelon Jeansonne

Funeral Mass for Ursula Bordelon Jeansonne of Cottonport will begin at 12:00pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph #2 Cemetery in Marksville. 

Ursula B. Jeansonne, age 88, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville. 

Ursula was a devoted Catholic who exemplified strength and determination throughout her life. She cherished her family deeply, and her nurturing nature, along with her unforgettable smile, will be profoundly missed by her loving children and grandchildren.

Her love was also expressed through the culinary arts, as she savored traditional Louisiana dishes like gumbo and rice with gravies, creating meals that brought her family together around the dinner table.

Ursula found solace in classic films, often losing herself in the stories and characters that graced the silver screen. Her legacy is one of love, warmth, and a deep connection to those she held most dear.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Bobby St. Romain, Fr. Irion St. Romain, Jennifer Laborde, Kim St. Romain, and Billy Jeansonne (Kerri); 12 grandchildren, Chelsea, Meagan, Lacy, Paige, Patrick, Christy, Marsha, Allie, Jake, Lauren, Amy, and Bobby, Jr.; and 16 great-grandchildren. 

Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Jake Jeansonne, Gage Jarreau, Ricky Rogers, and Drake Dauzat. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Miller Jeansonne; son, Dale St. Romain; parents, Walter B. Bordelon and Angel Mayeux Bordelon; sisters, Adele Bordelon, Cesna Gauthier, and Henrietta Murphy.

Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 11:30am on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Rosary prayer service will begin at 11:00am.
