Funeral services for Vashti Hayes of Cottonport will take place at the Shepherd of the Hill Baptist Church of Plaucheville on Saturday, July 27, 2013, beginning at 10:00am. Visitations will also be held at the church that morning starting at 9:00am. Burial will commence at the St. Anthony Cemetery of Cottonport.
Vashti Hayes, age 98, passed away at her home in Cottonport on Monday, July 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hayes, Sr. daughter, Jannive Paul parents, Leon Alice Madria and eight brothers sisters. She is survived by her children, Leona Hayes, Ida Maten, Alice Lavalais, all of Cottonport, David Hayes, Jr. of Dalton, IL, Rhyne Hayes of Mansura, Burks Hayes, Shirley Hayes, both of Cottonport and sister, Cora Matthews of Cottonport. She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren, twentythree greatgrandchildren, three greatgreatgrandchildren.
Services and arrangement are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
