Velma Scallan

Funeral services for Velma Scallan of Baton Rouge, former resident of Cottonport, will take place at the St. Marys Assumption Catholic Church of Cottonport on Saturday, March 23, 2013, beginning at 11:00am with Fr. Jacob Thomas officiating. Visitation will take place at the Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport prior to the funeral service, from 9:00am to 11:00am. Burial services will commence at the St. Marys Catholic Mausoleum 2.
Velma Scallan, age 86, passed away at the Old Jefferson Community Care Center of Baton Rouge on Thursday, March 21, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Joseph L.J. Scallan parents, Oscar Josephine Ducote brother, Alan Ducote sisters, Edine Gaspard Rabalais, Anna Mae Ducote Tassin, Mable Ducote. She is survived by her children, Lloyd Scallan and Karen Scallan Campbell, both of Baton Rouge and sister, Hilda Dally of Lake Charles. She is also survived by her three grandchildren three greatgrandchildren.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
