Verlie Mayeux

Funeral services for Verlie B. Mayeux of Simmesport will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church of Simmesport beginning at 10:30am. Visitations will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport beginning at 5:00pm until 10:00pm, and will re-open the following morning at 8:00am until time of the funeral. A rosary will be said Monday night at 7:00pm. Officiating clergy will be Msgr. John Timmermans. Burial will take place at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Verlie Mayeux, age 102, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 20, 2009. She is preceded in death by her; parents, Preston Maria Brown; husband, Ellis P. Mayeux. She is survived by her; sons, Harold J. Mayeux of Metairie, Raymond Mayeux of Chalmette, Phillip Mayeux of Simmesport, Jerry Mayeux of Madisonville, Burton Mayeux of La Place; daughters, Audrey Desselles of Metairie, Beryl Dufrene of Metairie, Marion Bordelon of Moreauville, Inez Chunn of Simmesport. She is also survived by her twenty-two grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
