Vernon Antoine

Funeral services for Vernon G. Antoine of Moreauville will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 beginning at 11am at Simpson Baptist Church in Moreauville with Pastor Terryl Pierite officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 beginning at 8am until 10:45 am at Simpson Baptist Church. Burial will commence at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Vernon "Wardog" Antoine, age 73, passed away at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Vernon worked for Holsum Bread Company in Alexandria for 32 years until the factory closed as a baker and dough maker. He was a kind hearted man who enjoyed helping others. Wardog will be missed dearly by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Celestin & Corinne Antoine; one daughter, Tessa M. Antoine, & four brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years together, Brenda Jacob Antoine of Moreauville; daughter, Katrice Pierre of Shreveport; son, Tarvin Antoine of Lake Charles; step-son, Thaddeus Sampson of Mansura; sisters, Ella Coco of Moreauville, Saddie Dupas of Alexandria, Barbara Patton of Moreauville, & Myrtle Jackson of Moreauville; brother, Jimmy Antoine of Simmesport; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.
