Funeral services for Wilbert Dookie Friels of Cottonport will take place at the New Light Baptist Church of Evergreen on Saturday, November 22, 2014 beginning at 2:00pm with Rev. Gary Ford officiating. Visitation will also be held at the church that day from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Burial will commence at the New Light Baptist Cemetery.
Wilbert Friels, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Burks Octavia Friels Matthews daughter, Demetrice Ballard and brother, Clarence Friels. He is survived by his wife, Mary Friels children, Tasha Ballard, Jasmine Ballard, Quanessa Ballard, Latasha Hagger, Jarenda Friels, Tyrone Ballard Jocelyn, Wilbert Ballard, Travis Hagger, Derrick Hagger, Tonie, Kingsley, Jermaine Hagger sisters, Johnnie Mae Jackson, Rose Mae Henry, Phyllis Matthews, Alice Faye Friels, and his very dear cousin, Julia Gaines. He is also survived by his twentynine grandchildren two greatgrandchildren.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
