Funeral services for Willie Spikes, Jr. of Mansura, a former resident of Macon, Georgia, will take place at the New Birth Renaissance Baptist Church of Macon, GA on Saturday, May 4, 2013, beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will commence at the Woodlawn Memorial Park of Macon, GA. Visitation will be held at Escud Funeral Home of Mansura, LA on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a wake service to be held after with Pastor Frankie Ford officiating.
Willie Norman Spikes, Jr. served his country proudly for 20 years as a member of the United States Army. He retired as a Senior Non Commissioned Officer with the rank of E7. He went on to celebrate his life with Christ on April 26th, 8:15am. He was born on August 27,1933 in Macon, GA. to Maggie Spikes and Willie Norman Spikes, Sr. He was a member and Deacon of Magnolia Baptist Church in Evergreen, Louisiana and an honorary member and Deacon at New Birth Renaissance Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia. He was married to the love of his life, Helen Byron Spikes who he lovingly referred to as Doll, she precedes him in death. From this union three children were born. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Dean of Macon, Georgia. His two sons Wayne Regina Spikes, of Anniston, Alabama, Michael OHara Spikes of Beltsville, Maryland, and his daughter Sandra Spikes Jimmy Davis, who he referred to as Denny, of Stockbridge, Georgia. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
