Funeral Mass for Eleanor Mitchel of Bordelonville will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Church of Bordelonville on Monday, May 30th, 2022 beginning at 12:00pm with Rev. Louis Sklar officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Mausoleum.

Eleanor Desselle Mitchel, age 90, left to be with Jesus on Monday, May 23rd, 2022 at the Our Lady of the Lake Hospital of Baton Rouge. She never met a stranger and was known as ‘MawMaw Mitch’ to everyone she met. She will be missed dearly.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Ronald (Denise) Mitchel, Rebecca (Bobby) Byrd, Warren (Rochelle) Mitchel and Christal (Kevin) Davis; brother, Wayne Desselle (Connie). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Curtis Mitchel; granddaughter, Erica Byrd; parents, Oscar and Eleanor Lemoine Desselle; brothers, Clifford, James Oscar “J.O.”, Jude, Sr., Lloyd, Errol, Cleo, and Raymond Desselle; sisters, Leona Laborde, Inez Desselle, Audrey Coco, and Louise Arnouville.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am on Monday, May 30th, 2022 and last until time of services.
