Keith, born July 22, 1954, to the late Hugh & Virgie Monin Lemoine of Mansura. He was the 2nd of 4 children born to this union. Keith was born and raised in Mansura with his older brother, Terrell and his 2 younger sisters, Priscilla & Lisa. He was raised in a Christian home and was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Mansura then became a member of the St. Paschal Catholic Church in West Monroe where he taught 6th-grade religion classes for several years.
Those left to cherish his memory is his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Norma Courville Lemoine, of West Monroe; his son, Samuel Lemoine (Stacie); his grandchildren, Jude & Sage Lemoine all of Downsville; his brother, Terrell Lemoine (Sandra) of Rayne; his sisters, Priscilla “Sis” Ducote (Carl) & Lisa Poret “Lil Sis” (Brent) all of Mansura; brother-in-laws, Jerry Courville (Cheryl), and Tony Courville of Georgia, David Courville, Sr. (Sheila) of Bordelonville; nieces, Becky Ducote Bordelon (Jeremy) and their sons, Jacob & Austin Bordelon all of Hessmer, Jenny Ducote Dauzat (Lance) and their children Emily and Christopher Dauzat all of Marksville, Kimberly Poret Bordelon (Chris) & their sons, Beau & Dawson Bordelon all of Dupont, Kathy Lemoine Brou (Lonnie) and their son, Ryan Lemoine all of Pineville, Sherry Furlow Cramer (Chad) of Rayne and their children Lauren, Paige & Ian Cramer all of Rayne, Celeste Armand of West Monroe and Shawntel Courville in Acworth, Georgia; nephews, Christopher Lemoine (Danae) of San Antonio, Texas, Brandon Poret (Kacie) and their son, Easton Poret all of Marksville, Travis Furlow (Melissa) of Fort Worth, Texas, Johnathan Armand (Kellie) of Winder, Georgia; David Courville, Jr (Amber) of Bordelonville; Blaine Courville (Chasity) of Hessmer; Jeremy Courville of Acworth, Georgia and many family members & friends.
Those that knew Keith knows he loved life. Sam’s friends nicknamed him “Poppa Smurf”. He also had a love for hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, and spending time with family and friends. Keith and his family lived in Mansura for 17 years then in 1991 he moved his family to West Monroe and remain there until the end. From the time he began to walk he learned what it was to work hard to provide for his family. He often spoke of his first job that his dad got him working for Sears for approximately a year then he began working in the Underground Waterwork Industries for the next 50 years starting in Alexandria with American Supply. Once in Monroe, he worked for Bowes & Eden/US Filter/National Waterworks as a District Manager. Recently I have had the opportunity to meet and talk with many people that have worked with him and customers that have done business with him and I was amazed to learn how many people he has impacted in his life. I was told that he, himself, is responsible for redefining customer service with Coburns, the Company that he retired from. All employees that worked under him will tell you that he has impacted their lives in a good way and got them to where they are today. He was like their dad, and he was always looking out for their welfare and their families. He was well respected in the industry and with just one phone call he took care of his customers and got the job done. I heard that he not only impacted the lives of the employees in his area but also impacted the lives of all the employees employed in the branch offices of the company in East Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee. He was responsible for the largest Meter sale for Coburn’s in the company’s career and was awarded the Golden Eagle Awards with Coburn’s in 2009. He was also the top-grossing branch out of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. I met and spoke with one of his customers who told us that when he opened his company, he purchased his first piece of pipe from Keith and followed Keith wherever he worked and never purchased from anyone else.
As I sit at my computer reflecting on Keith’s life, I have come to realize that from being a great brother to his siblings and uncle to all of his nieces and nephews, to being an outstanding employee, a dear friend to many, and a priceless husband, father & grandfather he has touched the lives of so many people. I will always be grateful for the time and memories God has provided me of our sweet dear brother. On behalf of Keith’s family, especially on behalf of Norma, Sam, Stacie, Jude and Sage, we would all like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the love, support, phone calls, food, and prayers you have provided for our family at this difficult time. May God bless each and every one of you in a very special way, today and always.
