Rodger Lee Williamson, 63 of Mansura, was called to his resting place on August 9th, 2021.
He was born on July 27th, 1958 in Aurora, Colorado.
Rodger loved life, his family, friends and always lived life to the fullest. He loved hunting and cooking. His favorite place to be was at the camp. Rodger loved his work in the oilfield, which he spent most of his life doing.
On any given day, Rodger could be found on the porch cooking, visiting with friends and family or “modifying” something. Rodger always said that Rose was “the only thing that he didn’t have to modify”.
Anyone who knew Rodger had fond memories of him and eaten his good cooking. Rodger always welcomed everyone with open arms, a smile, and a hot meal. If you left the porch hungry, that was your own fault.
Rodger is now hunting at his eternal “camp” with a friend whom he dearly cherished, Mickey Marcantel.
Rodger had so many friends who loved him, and to know him was to love him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 10 years, Rose Williamson; son, Matthew (Amy) Williamson of Carencro; step-daughters: Shannon Calk of Colfax, Stacey Ehrman of Houma, Virginia (John) Riddle of Marksville, and Crystal Smith of Mansura; brother, Bobby (Dianne) Williamson of Lake Charles; grandchild, Liam Williamson; and step-grandchildren: Brayton Smith, Antonio Fred, Shelby Buzzard, and Michella (Kyler) Fontenot. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
